Poll: Majority Demand End to Minor Sex Changes, Gender Lessons

(ConcernedPatriot.com) – According to a recent YouGov poll, most Americans feel states should “ban all gender transition therapies for minors and end discussion of gender ideology in all public schools.”

A more significant majority of voters (41%) than the other alternatives in the poll support outlawing sex change hormones and therapies for minors and removing gender ideology teachings from public schools.

The statement that “states should protect the rights of transgender adults to live as they choose but implement stronger regulations on puberty blockers, transition surgeries, and transgender minors’ participation in sports” is supported by only 32% of respondents.

Only 26% of respondents support the extreme stance that “states should protect all transgender youth by providing access to puberty blockers and transition surgeries if desired, and allowing them to fully participate in all activities and sports as the gender of their choice.”

Political affiliation makes a significant difference in how these beliefs are supported.

In contrast to Republicans and independents, Democrat voters favor allowing children to use hormones, puberty-delaying medications, and undergo sex-mutilating surgery.

According to the poll, half of Democratic voters, or 50%, believe that states should permit young people to try to transition into the other sex.

Only 15% of independents and 3% of GOP voters concur.

Independent voters are primarily split between outright prohibiting procedures and teaching gender ideology in schools (43 percent) and “protect[ing] the rights of transgender adults” while enforcing stricter rules on child transitions and sports participation (42 percent).

Unsurprisingly, 73 percent of GOP voters support prohibiting gender ideology in schools and outlawing the mutilation of sex-confused children.

Republicans, however, make up 24% of those who think that states should “protect the right of transgender adults to live as they choose but implement stronger regulations on puberty blockers, transition surgeries, and transgender minors’ participation in sports” while protecting their right to do so.

With a margin of error of just 1.9 percent, YouGov polled 3,012 American voters online from June 20 to June 29.
