Texas Governor Now Busing Migrants to Chicago

Wednesday night, Texas Governor Greg Abbott delivered a busload of migrants to Chicago. The delivery expands the list of sanctuary cities to include New York and Washington, D.C.

The buses carried between 80 and 100 people, including 20 to 30 small children. Many of the migrants claimed to be Venezuelans.

Abbott said in a statement Wednesday night–

The migrants were welcomed by the Chicago Mayor’s Office, which stated, “This is not new; Chicago welcomes hundreds of migrants every year and provides much-needed assistance.” The mayor’s office went on to call Governor Abbott’s decision to transport approximately 60 migrants on air-conditioned buses “inhumane” and “racist.”

According to Breitbart Texas, over 118,000 people crossed into Texas-based border sectors in July alone. Texas has sent fewer than 10,000 people to the sanctuary cities of New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

In July, approximately 55,000 people entered the Del Rio Sector. This population exceeds that of the two largest border cities, Eagle Pass and Del Rio, Texas. Their respective populations are around 30,000 and 36,000 people.
