(ConcernedPatriot.com) – On Saturday, Mexico President Andrés Manuel López Obrador set social media ablaze by posting a picture of what he described as a mythical elf perched in a tree.
In addition, Obrador posted a picture of what he described as sculptures of this kind of elf found at a Yucatec-Maya archeological site.
According to a machine translation, the Mexican president wrote,
“I share two photos of our supervision of the Mayan Train works: one, taken by an engineer three days ago, apparently from an aluxe; another, by Diego Prieto, of a splendid pre-Hispanic sculpture in Ek Balam. “Everything is mystical.”
According to Mayan legend, an Aluxe is a small mythical creature who brings havoc and mischief.
The following day, the tweet had received over five million views.

Some people on social media liked the stories and jokes, but others tried to prove that Obrador’s picture was not of an elf.
“Yeah, Andrés, an engineer, snapped a picture three days ago that has been making the rounds in Thailand since December 2021 and in Nuevo León since February 2021. You are terribly depressed. And the nation even more… You are foolish if you think that. If you lie, knowing it, you are evil,” a Twitter user commented.
In fact, the image previously circulated claimed to show a “witch” seen in Nuevo León.
The unidentified animal in the photo resembles a gibbon, a miniature ape, or a langur monkey.
As the Mexican president claims, is it a “mythical creature” or has he lost his mind?
What are your thoughts?
