NY Supreme Court Reinstates All Employees Fired For Being Unvaccinated

On Monday, the New York State Supreme Court reinstated all employees who had been fired for failing to be vaccinated, ordering backpay and declaring that their rights had been violated.

The court found that “being vaccinated does not prevent an individual from contracting or transmitting COVID-19.”

Earlier this year, New York City Mayor Eric Adams stated that his administration would not rehire employees who had been fired due to their vaccination status.

Earlier this year, after former Mayor Bill de Blasio implemented a vaccine mandate, the city fired approximately 1,400 employees for being unvaccinated.

Many of those fired were cops and firefighters.
