Whether you realize it now or not, knowing how to siphon gas is seriously going to come in handy once SHTF. Although it’s illegal to use this practice now, you can bet that once a major crisis hits, it’s going to be every man, woman and child for themselves.
And you can also bet gas will be one of the prime commodities that people snatch up once things get bad.
Thankfully, there are ways you can get gasoline for FREE once SHTF. Is it illegal? Yes. But, like I said, once the world is going to hell in a handbasket, you’re going to be primarily concerned with transporting yourself and your loved ones around – and less concerned with the law.

You’re going to have attained an entirely new, crisis-ready skill set once you discover…
How To Siphon Gas In A Crisis
1 – Understand The Siphoning Process
First, it’s important to understand how the siphoning process works in order to know how to do it effectively. Watch the video below for details:
2 – Siphoning With Your Mouth
Now most people are familiar with this process – they siphon out the liquid with a tube, and then suck on the other end like a straw until the gasoline comes out. Then they put the end in the container and let it pour out. You can accomplish this method using a rubber tube and a 2.5 gallon container.
However, this is often an unfavorable option since you wind up getting gasoline in your mouth (gross).
In fact, not only is this gross, but gas that is inhaled or swallowed can cause severe health issues, and can even be fatal.
That’s why I highly recommend you bypass this method for your own safety, and instead utilize one of the other ones below.
3 – Siphoning With Pressure
Siphoning with pressure is a much safer way to get the gasoline from a tank.
This is because you’re able to blow into a tube to add pressure, rather than sucking it out.
However, it’s still very important to make sure you don’t inhale gasoline from the tube. Remember, it is not a straw.
Here’s a video showing how this process is done:
4 – Siphoning With A Pump
You’ll need a special siphon pump for this. However, I promise you the results are well worth it. Not only is this method safe and effective, but it completely eliminates the need for using your mouth.
Take a look at how this method works in the video below:
Like I said, you should only use these methods in emergency situations! Doing otherwise could get you into some serious legal trouble.
However, if you play your cards right and get to the gasoline as soon as the SHTF, you can bet you’ll be sittin’ pretty with a solid amount of storage, and leaving other not-so-lucky preppers in the dust.
As always, it’s important to be prepared for emergencies by knowing helpful tips like this. The more you know, the better off you’ll be once the SHTF. Remember: Prepare Now, Survive Later!
