( – Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he would “not be doing the debates” despite having a significant lead over his rivals in the polls.

Apparently leading Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by 46 points in a CBS survey, the former president announced on his Truth Social account.

The former president’s statement follows a previous interview in which he stated that he had no desire to participate in a discussion with candidates polling at one or two percent.

In the wake of numerous indictments about the 2020 race, Breitbart News claimed that the former president had the largest lead over his primary rivals according to the CBS News/YouGov survey.

A CBS News/YouGov poll released on Sunday states, “Former President Donald Trump posted his biggest lead over his rivals at 62 percent of likely Republican primary voters.”

“The poll revealed that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, his main competitor, has regressed more from earlier this summer, down to 16 percent,” it added.

Third-place finisher Vivek Ramaswamy received 7% of the vote, with the other candidates receiving single-digit support.
