Tensions Ignite: California Parents Brawl Over Elementary School's Pride Event

(ConcernedPatriot.com) – A father from California has decided to stop sending his kids to the school because he is “fed up” with the school administration, who allegedly disregarded parents’ worries about a Pride event.

On the same day as the scheduled assembly that caused a commotion in the neighborhood, protests broke out in North Hollywood on Friday when irate parents and counter-protesters clashed outside Saticoy Elementary School.

Dad of four, Manuk Grigoryan, said he refuses to return his children to school until he can speak with school officials. Manuk Grigoryan was one of the parents who came to the streets with other parents to protest the school.

“They aren’t old enough.” “Fox & Friends” quoted Grigoryan as saying, “It wasn’t about the problem of the book itself just because once the book was meant to be read, they were expected to turn around and have a debate about what they just read and heard.”

“They totally ignore us and just don’t want to talk to us when we want to speak with them and have these discussions, and I’m fed up, and the school is not safe for my children,” he stated.

“Until they come out and speak to us, I’m not taking my kids back.”

The reading of “The Great Big Book of Families” features representations of numerous family kinds, including those with LGBTQ+ parents, which offended several parents.

According to the Associated Press, more people were protesting against the assembly than for it. Some demonstrators wore T-shirts that read “Leave our kids alone” and “No Pride in Grooming.”

The exposure of his identical twin daughters, who are 8 years old, to such information without parental approval, according to Grigoryan, “is unacceptable.”

“We learned about this assembly in early May. Since then, we have made multiple attempts to get in touch with school administration and schedule a meeting,” according to Grigoryan.

“We did meet with the principal, but she was unable to be of assistance. So, we made a request to talk with Alberto Carvalho, the superintendent of [L.A. Schools].

He ignored every chance we had to communicate with him despite our repeated attempts to get in touch with him. We had no choice but to go to the streets because he simply refused to acknowledge us.”

“Los Angeles Unified remains committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students,” the school system said in response.

“Additionally, we are dedicated to promoting inclusivity and diversity. The Los Angeles School Police Department will also conduct more patrols around the campus out of an abundance of caution.”

But Grigoryan insisted that he would keep speaking out and pressing for answers. I’ll continue to fight until I win this battle, stated Grigoryan.

Grigoryan continued, “No matter how powerful they are, we won’t be silenced.”

Friday saw numerous fights break out as demonstrators and LGBTQ activists physically engaged.
