Did you know there are lots of survival uses for velcro? This nifty survival tool often flies under the radar when it comes to stockpiling survival supplies. However, it turns out this is an incredibly useful tool that can really make a difference in an emergency situation!

You’ll want to stock up on velcro ASAP once you’ve discovered these…

7+ Amazing Survival Uses for Velcro

Hang Tools

Need some extra storage space? You can velcro your lightweight tools to the ceiling of your shed (or to the wall of your garage). That way you can easily see – and use – your tools when you need them.

Stay Sneaky

Need to hide things from potential looters and thieves (or even snooping neighbors)? You can hide things like spare keys, self-defense tools, and more using velcro. Hide them on the ceiling, under tables, behind picture frames, and more.

Maximize Storage Space

If you’re bugging in, you can attach spices and other containers to the inside of cabinet doors. This way you can more easily see what you’ve got on hand, and you don’t have to worry about rummaging around to find things you need in a pinch.

Secure Items In Your Trunk

Vehicle trunks are great storage space for your preps. But oftentimes these items roll around, become disorganized, and can even damage other items because of this movement.

Thankfully, you can velcro down essential items to keep them in place. This helps ensure your stuff doesn’t get damaged, and it’ll likely be a lot less noisy when you go around tight turns.

Organize Your Bug Out Bag

Want the most “bang for your buck” when it comes to go-bag storage space? You can put essential items into small bags or pouches, and then velcro these to the inside of your bag. (Just make sure these items aren’t breakable as they get jostled around in your pack).

Keep A Running List

One of the best ways to completely prepare for an emergency is to keep a running list of inventory you have on hand, as well as a list of items you still need to buy. By getting a whiteboard and velcroing it to the wall, you can have a visual of all your preps (and preps-to-be) to keep everyone on the same page.

This is a great option since the list will exist when you have a blackout or experience an EMP (we can’t say the same for any inventory lists on your computer). Plus, if you ever need to remove the whiteboard, you can tear it off and take it with you.

Secure Shelving & Furniture

Shelving, furniture and more are bound to move around during an earthquake. You can help prevent this by velcroing furniture to walls and flooring to help prevent them from moving around. You can also velcro items to the shelves they’re sitting on in order to help prevent them falling off and breaking.
