Combine baking soda with a little water to make a paste. Apply the paste onto the head of a cotton swap, and apply it to the tooth and surrounding gums.
Steep a black tea bag in hot water , and then lay the bag against the sore tooth, applying pressure. The tannins in the black tea will decrease the aching.
Wash, dry and peel fresh ginger. Then cut off a 1/2 – inch piece and bite down on it using the affected tooth. Run the ginger juice around your tooth and gums. Do this a few times a day for a few days.
Salt Water Rinse
Add as much salt to a cup of water as possible. Then swish the liquid in your mouth for a few minutes.
Peel an onion and cut off a chunk. Bite down on it using the hurt tooth, and rub the juices onto the tooth/surrounding gums. This will help kill any bacteria in the area.
Soak a cotton ball in vinegar. Then bite down on the cotton ball and let the vinegar soak into the tooth/gums.
You can also make a paste of 1 tsp vinegar and 2 tsp baking soda. Lather the mix onto the tooth and leave it for two minutes. Rinse.
Suck on/chew cloves using the tooth that’s in pain. You can also press a clove against the tooth for a few minutes. The clove’s antiseptic and antibacterial properties will provide temporary relief.
Swish with vodka, whiskey, or another hard alcohol to help kill bacteria in the mouth.
Cayenne may be spicy, but it can also help control inflammation and decrease pain from toothaches. Form a paste with the ground pepper and water, and apply to the hurt tooth. Leave on for a few minutes, and then rinse out.
Chew on cloves of raw garlic to start fighting the pain. You can also peel/smash 8 cloves of garlic and place them in a cup of water as an antibiotic mouth rinse.
Apply a few drops of vanilla extract to the hurting tooth/surrounding gums. Then pour a few drops onto a cotton ball and press it against the tooth. Repeat 3 times/day.
Gather fresh peppermint leaves and chew them with the hurt tooth. Run the peppermint juices around your tooth and surrounding gums.
Use a room-temperature cucumber and hold it against the hurt tooth. Another method is to mash up the cucumber and add a little salt before applying.
