‘Grandpa Joe’ Turns 81 — Democrat Party is Worried

(ConcernedPatriot.com) It has been revealed that the Democratic party is attempting to come to terms with the fact that President Joe Biden, who turns 81 on Monday, is the front-runner among Democrats to win the presidency in 2024.

Democrats’ concern over Biden’s advanced age stems from their expectation that he would fall short against former President Donald Trump in the November election.

“If you haven’t heard, the Democratic Party is full of anxious people right now,” Politico Playbook wrote Sunday, highlighting a series of stories about Biden’s age.

“Even those in Biden’s inner circle, including family members, worry about the optics of age,” Politico‘s Elena Schneider, Holly Otterbein, and Jonathan Lemire said.

“Those close allies believe that Biden is mentally up for the job, but some acknowledge that the president can at times appear frail, according to two people involved in the conversations but not authorized to speak publicly about internal deliberations.”

Politico was informed by over a dozen Biden backers, strategists, fundraisers, Democrat leaders, and contributors that they had “deep” concerns about Biden’s campaign’s capacity to conceal his mental health from voters.

One strategy to help Biden is to emphasize his age as a source of wisdom during turbulent times.

“They are pushing for more humor about ‘Grandpa Joe,’” they added.

Many people express concern over Biden’s physical limitations and advise him to move less publicly.

According to the newspaper, “people close to the president have discussed having him walk shorter distances while on camera.”

“They’ve also occasionally recommended switching from formal to more comfortable shoes—both to lessen the chance of stumbles and to give the impression that his stride is less rigid.”

Ashley Parker, Tyler Pager, and Michael Scherer of the Washington Post also wrote about Biden’s age. It was based on interviews with thirty Democrats inside and outside the campaign.

The main issue is that Biden appears to be aging and has lost his footing. “He’s had trouble marketing his financial achievements,” they wrote.

Concerns have also been raised about the campaign’s lack of significant events or outreach in response to the public’s dismay about his prospects and the impending threat posed by Trump, 77.

The Post’s correspondents recalled two further concerns in addition to Biden’s age:

  • Some contend that neither Biden nor his team have successfully conveyed a strategy for winning reelection, a vision for governing for a second term, or a convincing case against Trump.
  • Democrats are likewise worried about how poorly the campaign is doing in places that are considered battlegrounds.

Apart from experimental initiatives for mobilization in Arizona and Wisconsin, the campaign has not expanded upon the Democratic National Committee’s footprint in crucial states or dispatched personnel to any of the initial primary states.

Polls show that Joe Biden would lose to Trump in a matchup. According to Fox News and NBC News surveys, Biden’s popularity reached its lowest point.

In both surveys, only 40% of voters approved of Biden, the lowest popularity percentage of his presidency.

According to an NBC poll issued over the weekend, former president Donald Trump is ahead of President Biden for the first time in the poll’s history.

“If the election for president were held today, with Donald Trump as the Republican candidate and Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate, for whom would you vote?” was the question posed to respondents in the study.

Trump received 46 percent of the vote in the November survey, two points more than Biden’s 44 percent.
