GOP Rep STUNS Military Leaders With Questions About Drag Shows On Base!

( – During a House Armed Services Committee hearing, Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., questioned the senior military officials about drag shows on military facilities, leaving Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley appearing stunned.

Milley responded to Gaetz on Wednesday after the Republican lawmaker read several headlines about drag shows on military bases, according to

“I’d like to take a look at those myself and find out what actually is going on there because that’s the first I’m hearing about that kind of stuff.” I want to look at those because I disagree with them and believe they shouldn’t happen.”

Promoters of drag shows on military facilities claim they are intended to express support for LGBTQ service members. Most recently, a planned “Drag Queen Storytime” at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, was canceled due to GOP criticism of the event.

However, a Milley spokeswoman informed that although most drag shows on military bases have been supported by private organizations, Milley does not support taxpayer-funded drag shows on military facilities.

Austin meanwhile made it clear that the Pentagon does not support drag shows on bases.

Austin stated during the hearing that “the department does not finance drag queen story hours.”

Defense Department spokesperson Nicole Schwegman later stressed that Austin does not support the performances on military stations.

Schwegman stated, “The DOD does not subsidize or encourage drag queen events or story hours, as Secretary Austin noted during the House Military Services Committee hearing yesterday.”

According to, the first drag event on a military site most likely occurred in 2014 at Kadena Air Base in Japan. A representative for Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada defended the scheduling of a drag show there in 2021.

The military’s morale, cohesiveness, and readiness depend on making sure that our ranks accurately represent and include all Americans, the spokesperson said at the time, according to Yahoo! News.

“Nellis Air Force Base is committed to fostering a culture that is characterized by inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity.”

Meanwhile, China’s military is preparing for war against the United States as our US Generals promote “wokeness.”
