BREAKING: North Korea Captures US Soldier Crossing Military Demarcation Line

(ConcernedPatriot.com) – A senior U.S. official tells Fox News that an American soldier was detained in North Korea on Tuesday after violating the Military Demarcation Line.

“A U.S. National on a JSA orientation tour crossed, without authorization, the Military Demarcation Line into the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK),” the peacekeeping force tweeted.

“We believe he is currently in DPRK custody and are working with our Korean People’s Army counterparts to resolve this incident.”

The peacekeeping force tweeted, “A U.S. National on a JSA orientation tour crossed the Military Demarcation Line into the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), without authorization.”

“We are collaborating with our Korean People’s Army counterparts to settle this matter and believe he is currently in DPRK custody.”

The person’s identity was not readily available.

Americans are advised not to visit North Korea by the State Department “due to the continuing serious risk of arrest and long-term detention of U.S. nationals.”

A travel warning also states that because the United States lacks diplomatic or consular connections with North Korea, it cannot provide emergency services to American citizens there.

Although it is uncommon for Americans or South Koreans to defect to North Korea, The Associated Press reports that more than 30,000 North Koreans have done so since the 1950–1953 Korean War to escape political repression and economic hardship.

The 154-mile-long Demilitarized Zone, which includes the Korean border settlement of Panmunjom, was established after the Korean War: North Korea and the U.N. Command share command of the region.

The U.N. Command says it is working to resolve incident along Korean border.

This is a developing story.
