BREAKING: Gov. Ron DeSantis To Announce 2024 Candidacy

(ConcernedPatriot.com) – Florida’s Republican governor Ron DeSantis is formally running for president in 2024 after months of hype and rumors.

According to reliable sources, the well-liked Republican governor will proclaim his candidacy for president on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET during a Twitter conversation with Elon Musk.

DeSantis is anticipated to announce and submit paperwork to the Federal Election Commission, which would formally kick off the Republican presidential primary.

DeSantis has spent months in the top tier of Republican candidates for the nomination, trailing just former President Donald Trump and ahead of the rest of the field of tangible and likely contestants in almost every GOP primary survey.

Trump and his allies immediately began to criticize DeSantis.

A Trump adviser told Fox News that Ron DeSantis would do well to announce on Twitter. In this manner, he avoids social interaction and is shielded from queries from the media.

DeSantis’ declaration comes as he meets with influential financial backers this week in Miami.

A formal campaign kickoff event will probably occur after this week’s gathering of leading funders and bundlers. Still, the campaign has not provided any information.

DeSantis and Trump now appear to be engaged in a two-person fistfight over the Republican nomination thanks to the two-term Florida governor’s spectacular move.

With the help of the then-president, DeSantis, who is 44 years old and more than three decades younger than Trump, won his first election as governor in 2018. However, he developed a national political brand and became a force unto himself.

The governor’s support among conservatives nationwide has increased over the past three years due to his adamant opposition to coronavirus pandemic limitations and his active actions as a cultural warrior taking on the media, businesses, and teachers’ unions.

Last year, DeSantis consistently downplayed rumors of a 2024 presidential run while concentrating on his reelection as governor of Florida.

However, he started to make suggestions that he would run for president after cruising to a historic 19-point victory in Florida, a once-competitive state, in November. And he reaffirmed in speeches his commitment that “we’ve got a lot more to do, and I have only begun to fight.”

Before being elected to Congress, DeSantis served in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. He has claimed that his accomplishments as governor have “transformed” Florida from a key general election battleground “into the nation’s leading red state” and that his state’s policy successes can serve as a model for the rest of the country.

During Florida’s recently concluded legislative session, the governor secured several conservative policy victories thanks to a GOP supermajority in Tallahassee, including a contentious six-week abortion law, stricter immigration regulations, limitations on gender and diversity education in schools, and approval of the ability to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.

DeSantis comes into the 2024 election in a respectable position. He’s comfortably in second place, far ahead of the rest of the field of Republican candidates for the White House.

Still, his poll numbers have declined compared to Trump’s since early this year.
