Multi-Use Survival Tools

Pockets have limited space in which to hold things. And you can’t arouse suspicion. Therefore, many Navy SEALS opt for multi-purpose survival tools. This is an incredibly smart choice, considering one tool can often do the tasks of two, three, five, or more other tools. This helps you stay one step ahead while keeping a low profile.

Tools That Provide Light

An EMP or an ordinary power outage can occur at any time. As such, it’s smart to always carry survival tools that can light your way. These tools should be small, lightweight, and bright.

Misc. Survival Tools

Of course, not every item fits neatly into a category. Therefore, it’s important to know some of the miscellaneous survival tools Navy SEALs often have on-hand. These include:

  • Car keys
  • Bobby pins
  • Wallet with small bills, credit card and I.D.
  • Key to unlock handcuffs
  • Smartphone with heavy-duty case
  • Headphones with built-in microphone
  • Super sharp survival knife

I’ll talk about the last bullet point in another section. But Navy SEALS often strongly recommend survival knives, since they can go places guns can’t. Check out one of the sharpest, most compact and deadliest survival knives on the market right here.

Emergency First-Aid Tools

If someone needs first-aid, it’s up to you to jump in to the rescue. Now, this may mean calling an ambulance and staying with the victim while they arrive. However, it’s also smart to carry a few necessary first-aid items with you. This may include gauze, tape, bandages, and scissors. You can also keep a compact first-aid kit in your car, at your home, and in your office for just such an occasion.

Clean Water Tools

SHTF situations come when we least expect it. That’s why it’s important to carry a survival tool that can provide fresh, clean, pure drinking water – even if the water available is unsanitary. Products such as the LifeStraw work well for this, as it’s compact, effective, and is as easy as drinking through a straw.

Self-Defense Tools

By far this is the #1 tool that Navy SEALS recommend to have in your EDC. Because the fact is, no matter where you are (gym, coffee shop, office, grocery store, etc.) hell can break loose at any time. Therefore, you need to be ready to protect yourself and others.

However, the trick is to do so without arousing suspicion. Not to mention, people can get carried away, overconfident, and/or downright reckless when they’re in possession of a firearm. For these reasons, Navy SEALS undergo massive amounts of training in order to even hold a gun.

Check out this interview with a former Navy SEAL to learn more about the Navy’s stance on guns and gun safety.

Because guns aren’t always the best (or only) option, there are other defense tools that can work extremely well. For instance, pocket-sized defensive tools (like this extra sharp survival knife) can work wonders, since they’re easily concealable and nobody will suspect you have them.

Defensive Multi-Tools

Now this is where things get good. To be as stealthy as possible, you’ll want to have a weapon that doesn’t look like a weapon. That’s where the EDC ClipKnife shines. It contains an extremely sharp blade, while masking itself as an ordinary, unassuming money clip. Perfect for all situations, this self-defense tool will hold your bills together, and then cut down an attacker in seconds. Check out this incredibly useful weapon right here.
